JAM Group Press Release | New planning blueprint unlocks future growth at Morayfield, with huge interest in the region following the approval of the Morayfield South Local Centre

Further lifestyle opportunities at Morayfield in the heart of the Moreton Bay region are in the pipeline, following State and Local Government approval of a key planning blueprint together with the approval this week of the regions first Shopping Centre.

The approved structure plan sets a clear direction for the delivery of infrastructure, land supply, parks, schools, and retail services at Morayfield, one of the state’s fastest growing areas.

This approval also means a major retail precinct in Morayfield South is now a step closer with council announcing the the approval of the Morayfield South Shopping Centre “Morayfield Marketplace” on the 16th February.

The approval of the new retail centre at the corner of Clark and Oakey Flat Roads by MBRC will include a major supermarket, medical centre, child care, gym, various food offerings, specialty retail and fuel.

The area has been the intense focus of people seeking affordable new homes, and the retail sector is also gathering momentum.

The developers of the new retail centre, JAM Group and Rankin Corp, report significant interest in the 9,000sqm retail centre.

JAM Group spokesperson and director , Jim Costello, said “We are busy fielding enquiries, with many major retailers recognising Morayfield Souths continued strong growth prospects.”

“Ordinarily, we need to market leasing opportunities, but Morayfield is really marketing itself.

“It’s a great vote of confidence in the future of Morayfield South, and we are excited to be part of shaping the region’s lifestyle and liveability, while creating local jobs.

“The approved structure plan gives us confidence to invest, and we are now focused on detailed planning and design.

“Across 2022 and 2023 we look forward to announcing major brand retailers who will join us at Morayfield.”

CBRE together with Peter Mokas from Ships Advisory is working with JAM Group to steer the project leasing.

CBRE’s National Head of Shopping Centre Leasing Lewis Torkington said, “We are expecting significant demand from retailers underpinned by the development’s strategic location in a major growth corridor.”

“The tenancy mix will cater for a range of every day needs offerings including medical, health and beauty and will incorporate a quality food & beverage precinct.

“We are looking forward to making several announcements in the near future regarding anchor tenants as well as the commencement of the specialty leasing campaign.”

Construction of the new retail centre is planned from 2023.
